What is Spravato®?

Spravato is an FDA-approved prescription nasal spray for treatment-resistant depression.

Spravato is the brand name for esketamine, a byproduct of ketamine. These treatments can help people who haven't successfully responded to other treatment options for Treatment-Resistant Depression symptoms

Ketamine and Spravato are often described as helping people “change lanes” on unwanted thoughts and urges, while more traditional medications tend to simply “slow down the speed.” Beyond being highly effective, the benefits of ketamine and Spravato often have lasting effects, with improvements seen for more than a year in many individuals.

How does Spravato® work?

Spravato works to reduce your depression symptoms by functioning as a NMDA receptor antagonist, modulating glutamate neurotransmission, which is known to play a role in mood regulation. This process allows Spravato to produce rapid antidepressant effects compared to traditional antidepressants that may take much longer to become effective.

  • For adults that have not responded adequately to at least two different antidepressant treatments
• Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
• Anxiety
• Chronic pain
• Neuropathic pain
• Obsessive-compulsive disorder
• Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
• Suicidal ideation
